Gay Sky
‘Something to Hold in the Let Go’ was a series of workshops held in puntWG by Clementine Edwards, Dagmar Bosma, Karin Iturralde Nurnberg, Raoni Muzho Saleh and Sophie de Seriere. During a week we shared our practices internally through different games, workshops and activities. While doing that we gather some initial material to get started towards the creation of a collective installation.
By the end of the week we offered a crafting workshop to the public. This was the ‘opening’ of our exhibition. The invitation was to join us in our creative process and intuitively create different pieces which would later on be gathered in an installation. We received more than 60 visitors, which all engaged in the making of different crafts with material we provided them. It was a big festive moment of collective creation.
After this workshop we took all the different pieces and composed the ‘Gay Sky’. For the ‘finissage’ we invited everyone again to come look at the collective installation, which included their contributions.
During the Workshop we had a lot of scrap materials, a tools. Mainly it was a workshop to creat crafts but I also did an ephemeral social sculpture. Among all the things hanging and the rearrangement of the Gay Sky (the sky itself) I made a cloud made of metallic mesh in which I invited guests to leave their credit cards hanging. A moment of suspension of wealth and wealth difference. Hoping that when it comes down from the cloud it rain.
